Discount code
A discount code is a word or code a customer enters at checkout to get a price reduction, free shipping or a free item.
Discount codes let you offer a deal only to the people you give the code to — subscribers, a social audience, first-time buyers — and see how many used it. Automatic discounts, by contrast, apply to everyone whose cart qualifies.
Good practice
- Set an end date and, if needed, a total usage limit
- Add a minimum order amount so the discount pays for itself
- Check what it does to your margin first
