Online payments: cards, wallets and bank transfer
Soooks stores take online payments through the merchant's own payment provider account: customers pay on the provider's secure payment page, and the money settles straight into your account — Soooks never holds it. Bank transfer and cash on delivery sit alongside, so customers can pay the way they prefer.
How it works
- Connect your provider in Settings → Payments with the keys from your provider account, and activate it. One card provider is active at a time.
- Customers pay on the provider's hosted checkout page and return to your store's confirmation page.
- The order is marked paid automatically when the provider confirms the payment. Card orders that are never paid are cancelled and their stock released after an hour.
What you can do
- Cards and wallets through Stripe or PayPal today, with Google Pay available through Stripe. More providers for the region are being added.
- Bank transfer, with your bank details shown at checkout, on the order confirmation page and in the order email, with the order number as the payment reference.
- OMT payment: the customer pays at an OMT location and enters the receipt reference at checkout; you check it and mark the order paid.
- Refunds, full or partial, from the order page. The refund is sent to your provider first; if the provider declines it, nothing changes in your records.
- See every fee on the order: the provider, the payment reference, the platform fee and what is left for you.
Fees
Your provider charges its own processing fee under your agreement with it. Soooks charges a platform fee on card and wallet orders only — 1.5% on Starter, 0.8% on Growth and 0.5% on Scale — billed to you separately and never taken out of your payout. Cash on delivery, bank transfer and OMT carry no platform fee. When you refund an order, the platform fee is reduced in proportion.
Limits
- Card details are always entered on the provider's page, not inside your store.
- Payments are captured straight away; holding a payment to capture later is not available.
- Apple Pay is not available yet.
