Order fulfillment
Fulfillment is everything between an order being placed and the customer receiving it: picking, packing, handing it to delivery and confirming it arrived.
Fulfillment is separate from payment. A cash-on-delivery order is fulfilled — packed, shipped and delivered — before it is paid; a card order is paid before it is fulfilled.
Steps
- Pick the items from stock.
- Pack them with a packing slip.
- Hand the parcel to a courier, or prepare it for pickup.
- Send the customer the tracking details.
- Confirm delivery or pickup.
In Soooks
Orders are fulfilled by location, with tracking numbers and links, packing slips, and statuses for ready for pickup, out for delivery, delivered and picked up.
